Sywell Supercarfest
The busy Idola awning at Supercarfest - Sywell Aerodrome
When we are not racing, Idola Motorsport still enjoy all things cars, and at sunny Sywell Aerodrome we brought Goldie and Everest out to meet the public.
In only its 2nd year of running, Supercarfest has already gained a huge following in the car community as one of the premier high end car events of the year, and once again Praga got the invite to setup in a prime location right by the runway drag strip.
The cars at this event are about as good as they get, many millions of pounds worth of high end machinery: all the latest Bugatti models, F40 LM, Koenigsegg, Lamborghini, you name it, it is here - yet despite the magnetism of these cars, the Pragas continue to stand out by shear unique design and performance.
Idola brought a small team and just the 2 cars, allowing us to share the awning with the Wolverhampton University Praga team, and the 6 kart display from Praga Karts UK. With the crowd bustling with young and enthusiastic petrolheads, the Uni was to able offer career advice to budding motorsport students and the feedback was brilliant. The karts showed how the next generation of young drivers could get on the racing ladder, and Jimmy Broadbent/Gordie Mutch were there to meet their fans, to talk both eRacing and real racing with their growing fan community. Ben Collins was in attendance with Jay Morton both driving Everesy - many a photo opportunity to be had!
2 drag strips runs each day were completed to a very enthusiastic crowd, all interested to see the drivers up close and personal - and a great opportunity for the Idola team to talk race cars with the huge crowd that we had in the awning each day.
Back in the workshop the rest of the team have been very busy getting ready for SIlverstone next week - it’s been a crazy time but we will be ready so see you there :)
