It doesn’t get much better than this!! Following the tough weekend that was Silverstone, the team arrived at Oulton Park circuit very much invigorated and ready to bring in the silverware. I guess the photo is a bit of a spoiler but suffice to say - we all did pretty well.

Idola arrived at circuit Thursday evening with 4 cars on board, Eleanor was sitting this one out with Tommy & Miles set to drive race winning car 106. Bridle was looking amazing with a revamped wrap design, and of course Everest and GoldieV2 rounded out the quad of cars.

Friday testing was super cold but with a bright blue sky above - the cars were running particularly well in this weather and all the driver pairings were bringing their lap times down through the day. Oulton Park is a very fast but unforgiving circuit with little run-off, so an element of care is required and the drivers did a superb job to go quicker and quicker whilst keeping everything on the black stuff. It was difficult to gauge overall pace from our competitors so would need to wait till qualifying to find out where we were.

Saturday was another chilly but bright morning and qualifying was going to be pretty frantic. With the grid slots set by the average of the pro-am driver pairings, the order was changing up to the final minutes of the half hour session. As you can see in the qualification results below, super tight with Tommy & Miles on pole with the TGM car less than 2 tenths behind. Jimmy & Gordie secured a place on row 3, Ed & Chris on row 4 and Ben & Jay on row 5.

To say the race was exciting doesn’t do it justice - too much to describe here so check it out at: YouTube (the Praga race starts around the 4hr mark). Tommy and Miles led from lights to flag, Gordie and Jimmy drove a great strategic race and secured 2nd place amidst the long safety car periods. Ed & Chris secured 4th position, with Ben and Jay coming in 5th.

So Idola took the win as well as 4 spots in the top 5!! The team are absolutely over the moon with the result and so pleased for Tommy and Miles that they finally got to show what they can achieve on raw pace.

Next stop Snetterton 300 circuit on 14th May - hope to see you there :).
