Something a little different…
With a long history racing with the 750 Motor Club, every now and again Idola like to go playing on track in cars a little different to the high aero machines of the Praga and Tatuus GB4. In May, Idola’s Al Boulton competed in the 750MC Cup 200 round at Croft circuit - the Cup 200 car is an MK Indy ‘seven-esque’ car built by RLM Racing, fitted with a blueprinted RLM Suzuki Hayabusa engine. 10,000RPM with fly by wire throttle and flat shifter - and with the car barely weighing 500kg and no aero devices, it certainly shifts!
First time out in the car went a lot better than expected and Al came away with a 1st, 2nd and fastest lap - hopefully there will be some more of this later in the year.
Big thanks to Rich Webb from RLM and Atomic Racing for making this possible.
